I've really found an explanation for my question about human temptation and morality through working on these paintings.  I've found definition in what I know to be right and wrong, and for the longest time I felt like there was no more good in man.  Instead, I've learned that my "good-guy syndrome" is not to be forsaken because others chose not to live by a code of ethics and chivalry.  This series was inspired by my girlfriend Tanisha, nicknamed Ni Ni.  Interaction with her and our relationship thus far has shown me that "life is a trip so sometimes we gon stumble" (Jay-Z, "Power Remix") and I've stumbled one time too many.  I'm inspired by my growth as not only an individual, but as an artist.  I'm starting to see life for what it really is in the present time and day.  Further explanation will be posted.

I just hope that you miss me a little when I'm gone...

So I said that I was NOT going to paint until I really corrected some technical anatomical issues, but I was sitting watching entourage today and something came over me to just find the right photo from my camera files and just go for it...here's the finished product.

I titled this post "The Beginning..." because due to previous works this year, I came home and was looking for a solution to a few working issues in my painting process.  Leaving the spring semester of my sophomore year in undergrad, I though that what I was doing was the right thing.  It was almost enlightening thinking that this new technique that I discovered was gaining some good review.  I placed in an emerging artist showcase in painting and got a 4.0 in my classes, but something was still missing.  The QUALITY was not there but the work ethic was.  Using clay (slip) mixed with acrylic was just not working......so here is to Reinvention, something that every artist [I believe] must face.
